Where does inspiration come from?

Its free of course. And it is everywhere. But an interesting thing about inspiration is that it comes to us only when we are ready to receive it.

Your thoughts on inspiration were inspiring in their brevity. But just how does one become this receiving vessel? This question brings me back to France and to recollect my acquaintance with a woman who had the great privilege to have 12 weeks of annual vacation. This sounds like an absurdity to the American ear. However, she taught me the wisdom of idle time, those very moments when we allow inspiration to settle in the air and perchance, find us. How can the scurrying busy beaver slow down enough to capture that elusive moment?

This leads me to another thought about creating the right climate or atmosphere for serendipity. I am adamant about a few things now and one is to have only the most suitable people in my life, those with whom I am intensely and passionately committed to sharing something. Gone are the hanger ons, the not-quites. Life is too short to spend on those who fit for purposes of expediency. Rarely is something worthwhile easy as through the act of struggle we are permitted the opportunity to learn great things. So it might be a good idea to let go of the people who aren't working for us anymore to make room for those special people who are. Interestingly enough, I've found that when I have the courage to get rid of this mental baggage, opening up as you will - space - something wonderful finds its way in.
