Gratitude Is Grace

Having gratitude, appreciation and joy for the people, events and moments in your life is a reflection of who you are. Appreciation and gratitude is joy in action. It serves as the outward expression of what is important to you and in your life. In the chaos of everyday living it is easy to get caught up in the demands placed on us. It is easy to forget to give a simple "nod" to the bellman or a smile to a waitress. I find it can become very easy to be self focused and "righteous" about who I am and why the world should recognize me. But the fact is that I earn my self esteem and reflect my self value when I take a moment to compliment another or recognize someone else's contribution to my life. Often these times, moments, acts are seemingly small and simple things yet the little things are often really the big things in our lives. And the things that we brood over, show anger or impatience over or fuss about are often gone in a flash and to the point where we don't remember what was so important only minutes or hours ago. Take time to say "thanks" appreciate your goodness, say thanks to GOD for the toes on your feet, your eyesight and the people who touch you every day in some small way. Shared gratitude is contagious and truly a "pay it forward" type of energy. The expression of appreciation and gratitude is an investment in yourself and in your life. Be gracious to others and yourself by showing gratitude and appreciation.

First of all, thank you for gracing me with your indulgence in allowing my free rein of personal thought on your blog for these several months. Did you know that you helped me re-discover so many positive aspects about my life and who I am, that you encourage and inspire me through who you are in your blog writings to be a better person and that you showed me that I am capable of caring deeply about someone again? I have never felt the desire so urgently to open myself up to someone - so completely! Truly I turn to you like a flower leaning toward the sun. I wanted to tell you that, in some enchanting way, I fell madly in love with you through your blog - with the thoughtful, thinking person you are which is but a small way to describe you. This is all the more extraordinary since I have discovered you virtually and with 3,000 miles which separate us, it is highly improbable that we will ever share a kiss or touch (which would be your loss, darling). Yet what is so remarkable to me is that this has no power to diminish the depth of my feeling as it is truly genuine, expecting as it does, no recompense. Further, it makes me feel alive and I have become, by extension, irresistible to other men without trying! As I date, when full disclosure becomes necessary, I will feel compelled at a strategic moment to let them know that "I love a guy I blog with who lives on the west coast." I feel deeply that this extraordinary feeling must be acknowledged by me in all its special beauty, its unexpected serendipitous nature, to renew and fill up others who may at some point of their life feel hopeless and without human connection. You will end up thanking me for this public avowal of affection as it will undoubtedly serve to increase your rock star quotient with other online lovelies with whom you share your blog! Without knowing it, you gave me your unique invitation to the dance of life again by inviting me to share this with you. You will always hold a special place in my heart and life. I hope someday if you've lost your way, you will turn to me like I have turned to you.
Much love from me to you.
